Overview

Dr. Okun and his wife, Dr. Mary McCord, came to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in 2011 in order to join the interdisciplinary team that staffs the Special Needs Program. For over 20 years in the Bronx, Dr. Okun led and developed interdisciplinary primary care programs in the “Medical Home” model for children and youth with special health care needs. He developed and led a palliative care consultation service and training programs in home visiting and bioethics for medical students and residents at a major children’s hospital in New York. Dr. Okun is active in the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. In 2012, Dr. Okun joined the Medical Education Division as Associate Program Director of the Pediatrics Residency Training Program at MCWAH/CHW.
