As a family nurse practitioner (FNP) it is my goal to help you achieve your best health by promoting health maintenance and disease prevention. I believe that it is critical to consider parts of the mind, body and spirit to create and foster a complete healthcare plan.
My specialties include adolescent medicine, reproductive health care and primary mental and general health care services. My commitment to holistic healthcare services and community outreach are important parts of my overall practice and approach to healthcare.
I hold a doctorate of nursing practice degree from the University of Wisconsin. I also have a master’s degree in counseling psychology and as a clinical nurse specialist (with an emphasis in public health) and a certificate in trauma counseling.
I am a member of the Comprehensive Approaches to Youth who Have Been Sexually Exploited (CAYSE) and an appointee to the State wide Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force. I am a former member and co-founder of the Proactive Outreach for the Health of Sexually Exploited Youth (POHSEY). I am the co-recipient of a Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program (HWPP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and The Federal Department of Family and Children Services (DCFS). These projects secured more than 2 million dollars in awards for programs that seek to provide proactive outreach and direct care services for youth involved in the domestic sex trade.
I have been a panelist and presenter on topics related to sexually exploited youth, LGBT issues, adolescent healthcare, sexually transmitted infection prevention, reproductive health and youth advocacy. My professional affiliations include memberships in Sigma Theta Tau – International Honor Society of Nursing, American & Wisconsin Nurses Association, and The North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.
