When you bring your child to Children’s Hospital, you always will be a valued member of the care team. Because you know your child better than anyone, we encourage you to work with us to develop a pain management plan that will provide the greatest benefit. Our acute pain specialists work with children who are inpatients and experiencing pain for a variety of reasons, including:

While your child is in the hospital, we will monitor his or her pain. Depending on the pain level, we will treat it through one or more methods. Our pain control treatments may include:

We see children with chronic or longstanding pain as outpatients in the Chronic Pain Clinic of the Jane B. Pettit Pain Management Center. Our goal is to help children who have painful illnesses or conditions find answers – even if it appears there aren’t any answers.
