Children's Hospital of Wisconsin-Fox Valley

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin specialty outpatient clinics provide local care for kids from birth to young adulthood. Our clinics complement the inpatient services at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Neenah and offer a convenient, close-to-home treatment option for families who don't live near Children's Hospital in Milwaukee.

Children's Hospital is in all major northeast Wisconsin health plans, including Network Health

Network Health members now have in-network access to our hospital and specialty clinics in Milwaukee, Fox Valley and at our other locations in northeast Wisconsin.

Adult congenital heart disease

We offer one of the few adult congenital heart disease programs in the country in conjunction with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin's Herma Heart Center, Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin. The program treats the increasing number of people born with heart conditions who are living into adulthood.

Directed by the Fox Valley's only on site pediatric cardiologist, this program offers treatment and diagnosis for infants, children and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease. We work with the Herma Heart Center and the Fetal Concerns Center of Wisconsin at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee to provide seamless care with experienced pediatric cardiologists. We also offer our Fetal Heart Program, where we use fetal echocardiography to assess heart structure, rhythm and function of the unborn child to assess for congenital heart disease or other abnormalities.

We provide management and treatment services for patients with type 1 (juvenile) and type 2 diabetes and their families. Our diabetes team is made up of a pediatric endocrinologist, nurse practitioners, diabetes educators, a dietician and a social worker. Your child's primary care doctor supervises the care they provide.

Services we offer include:

  • Office visits with a physician or nurse practitioners
  • Diabetes management education for newly diagnosed patients
  • Basic diabetes and self-management education
  • One-on-one visits with a nurse practitioner or registered dietitian
  • Ongoing medical follow-up until age 18
  • Teaching materials
  • School support program
  • Outpatient insulin pump program
  • One-on-one visits with a social worker
  • Inpatient care and education

We treat a variety of hormonal disorders in children. Our physicians and nurses have advanced training and certification in pediatrics and endocrinology and devote their entire practices to caring for children.

Our gastroenterology (GI) specialists treat both simple and complex GI problems, close to home. At the first clinic visit, your child will be seen by a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist and a nurse who specializes in gastroenterology care. We will determine what, if any, tests need to be done. A plan of care will be outlined and teaching provided.

Neonatal Developmental Follow-up Program

The Neonatal Developmental Follow-up Program provides follow-up care for babies who need special care after birth, are at risk for developmental delays or have ongoing medical problems. 

This program is very important during the child’s first three years — when he or she is growing quickly and learning many new skills. Parents or doctors can refer a baby to the program.

There are a wide range of conditions that can cause kidney disease in children, some of which may require dialysis and, eventually, kidney transplantation. At Children’s, our team of experts is trained to diagnose and treat all these conditions, whether common or uncommon.

Neurologic disorders come in many different forms and usually are related to other conditions, as well. Depending on the specifics of your child’s condition and your input, a variety of treatments across a number of Children's programs may be recommended.

Our neurologists work with other team members from the Comprehensive Neurosciences Center, as well as in programs across Children’s to offer complete care for your child.

We work with the orthopedic program at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee to bring care close to home. While surgeries are performed in Milwaukee, all assessment, pre- and post-operative appointments can be done locally.

We diagnose and treat a variety of orthopedic problems, including:

  • Bone tumors
  • Clubfoot
  • Congenital hand and foot deformities
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease (hip abnormality)
  • Scoliosis
  • Sports injuries

Pulmonary medicine

We diagnose and treat a variety of pulmonology disorders in infants, children and adolescents, including:

  • Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (chronic lung disease)

Rehabilitation, physical, occupational and speech therapy

We serve patients from newborn to 18 years of age who have a referral from their primary care physician for therapy services.

Physical therapy

The goal of physical therapy is to promote normal development and independent functioning. Staff provide services to patients with problems related, but not limited to:

  • Dysfunction of the musculoskeletal (orthopedics) system
  • Neuromuscular system
  • Cardiopulmonary (pulmonary/respiratory) system
  • Lower extremity limb deficiency
  • Oncology (cancers)
  • Rheumatic diseases

  • Developmental delay
  • Failure to thrive
  • Neonatal complications

Occupational therapy

Our staff provides evaluation and treatment of children with congenital or acquired physical, psychological, sensory or perceptual dysfunction. Services are provided to patients with problems related, but not limited to:

  • Developmental problems
  • Social/psychological difficulties
  • Upper extremity limb deficiency
  • Cardiopulmonary (pulmonary/respiratory) system
  • Oncology (cancers)

Speech therapy

Our staff provides inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and treatment intervention for infants, children and adolescents with feeding/swallowing disorders and communication or learning concerns.

Surgery follow-up

Pediatric surgeons evaluate children for surgery and provide follow-up care. Because of their special training and extensive experience, pediatric surgeons at Children's Hospital are uniquely qualified to treat the entire spectrum of problems in children of all ages and sizes – from the tiniest premature infants to adult-sized teenagers.

We treat urologic diseases and defects in children of all ages. Pediatric urologists, nurse practitioners and nurses have the training to care for children's unique physiology and age-related problems.

We diagnose and treat a variety of common urinary tract problems including:

  • Incontinence

  • Kidney stones and tumors
  • Bedwetting and urinary incontinence
  • Treatment for congenital urinary tract abnormalities, including ureteropelvic junction obstruction
  • Duplex systems/ureterocele
