As a cardiac nurse, I cared for patients one at a time as they went through heart surgery. My role was to educate and support the family and keep the cardiac teams informed about patients in the surgical pathway. ~Maryanne Kessel

What are the qualifications for a C.A.N. member?

  • You are interested in improving the health and well-being of children and families by positively impacting public policy in a way that is sensitive to the needs of children.
  • You are willing to communicate with local, state and federal lawmakers about issues that are important to children and families.
