Sports Medicine Program
It doesn't matter what the sport or activity is, kids are at risk for injuries. Our health care professionals understand that kids' injuries need special treatment. Because an injury and how its treated can affect your child's development.
Children's Hospital of Wisconsin offers the only full-service sports medicine program in the state that is just for kids. Our goal is to make sure your kids are healthy – and can get back to the activities they enjoy – as soon as possible. We work closely with parents, coaches and other specialists to provide care plans that fit each child's specific needs.
 We care for children and adolescents with a range of issues, including:
- Acute and overuse injuries (sprains and strains).
- Back and knee pain.
- Concussions.
- Fractures.
Less than 120 physicians in the nation are board certified in pediatrics and sports medicine. Kevin Walter, MD, Children's Hospital pediatric sports medicine specialist, is one of those physicians.
