We diagnose and treat the following:

  • Asthma.
  • Food and drug allergies.
  • Skin allergies, like hives (urticaria) and eczema.
  • Frequent sinus infections.
  • Severe allergic reactions, such as anaphylaxis.

  • Stinging insect allergies.
  • Hay fever.
  • Immune deficiency.

Specialized services

Children's Hospital offers a unique approach for patients with complex conditions:

Food or medication challenge tests
To confirm suspected allergies, doctors may do special tests. Based on the patient's reaction, these unique tests allow specialists to provide the best and safest care for patients.

Asthma Plus program
Adults and children with severe, difficult-to-control asthma receive specialized care through the Asthma Plus program. Doctors from many different specialties will help patients focus on education, identify short- and long-term health goals, develop an asthma action plan, understand when to contact a physician, and learn the importance of nutrition, exercise, an annual flu vaccine and regular follow-up visits with a medical professional.

Clinical Nutrition Services
Patients diagnosed with food allergies may be referred to a dietitian who specializes in caring for children with food allergies. Children with many food allergies may be at risk for nutrition problems that affect growth and development. Dietitians provide nutrition counseling, and help educate patients and families about how to live with food allergies.

Primary Immunodeficiency Program
A team of health care specialists diagnoses and treats complex primary immune deficiencies (non-AIDS) in children and adults. A full range of treatment is offered and research is conducted continually to improve diagnostic testing and care. The Clinical Immunodiagnostic and Research Laboratory offers some of the most advanced testing in the country for a variety of primary immunodeficiencies.

Sinus Clinic
Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) and Allergy doctors partner to provide specialized care for children with chronic sinus disease. Physicians work together to evaluate each patient and also may consult an Infectious Disease specialist.

Our team

Our team of specialists includes allergists with international reputations in the fields of allergy, asthma and immunology. Other clinic staff includes nurse practitioners, a nurse education specialist, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and respiratory care practitioners.
