Walmart stores and Sam's Clubs raise more than $638,000 for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin

October 15, 2012
MILWAUKEE - It's been a record-breaking year for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. A total of $638,107 was raised for the hospital in the annual Walmart and Sam's Club six-week fundraising campaign through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals®. Walmart and Sam's Club store associates, customers and members raised the campaign's largest total ever, mostly $1 at a time with donations taken at the register for CMN Hospitals. All proceeds are donated to Children's Hospital, the local Children's Miracle Network hospital.

"Each year we provide care to more than 370,000 kids from all over Wisconsin and beyond. They depend on us to provide the very best care, and we depend on support from corporate partners like Walmart and Sam's Club to help us raise funds for non-reimbursed services the hospital provides for patients and families," said Peggy Troy, MSN, RN, president and CEO, Children's Hospital and Health System. "Many of the special services we offer would not be possible without generous donations from individuals and companies."

Walmart stores surpassed last year's regional fundraising total of $419,457 and their 2012 campaign goal.  Walmarts 2012 fundraising campaign broke records on a national level, with more than $41 million raised for the 170 CMN Hospitals in North America. Walmart is the largest corporate partner of CMN Hospitals.
