Donating toys or other items
Your generous gifts can make a big difference to the kids we serve in our hospitals and clinics. Donated toys and other items help comfort kids and ease their fear and anxiety. Imagine when a child wakes up after surgery with a new stuffed animal by their side, or treatment milestones and birthdays spent in the hospital are made special with kid-friendly surprises. We appreciate your generosity and helping to make kids smile!

Organizing a toy or donation drive
Thank you for your efforts to make a difference in the lives of the kids we serve! We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our community during the holiday season. Please keep in mind that our need for toys remains constant throughout the year. Our greatest needs are in the months of March through August. Please read our wish list to review the types of items we are able to accept.
All toy or other in-kind donation drives must be approved by Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Family Services staff before organizations, groups or individuals announce, publicize or stage these activities.
We reserve the right to approve only those events that represent Children's Hospital of Wisconsin appropriately. We reserve the right to review and request additional information before acting on a proposal. If circumstances warrant, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin may chose to opt out as a beneficiary of a toy or in-kind drive at any time with no obligation.
Note: Children's Hospital of Wisconsin cannot assume any liability for an event conducted on its behalf.
To organize your own donation drive, please:
- Download and read the Use of Children's Hospital Name and Logo Guidelines (PDF)
- Fill out this online form. This information will allow Children’s staff to review your proposed donation drive and approve your plan in advance.
Please note: Out of concern for our patients’ safety and privacy, we are unable to welcome groups of visitors into the hospital to give gifts directly to our patients. When you drop off gifts, our Child Life Specialists take great care in distributing your donations to patients on your behalf.
Another option — shop our Amazon wishlist
Our Child Life Specialists are experts in helping our patients cope with difficult medical procedures. By distracting kids with play, particularly via age-appropriate entertainment, we can help children to shift their focus elsewhere and ease pain. Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin keeps an Amazon wishlist of items our Child Life team deems appropriate in distracting our inpatients from their surgical or medical procedures. Purchased items will be shipped directly to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
