I moved to Milwaukee in 2004 to attend the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. There I earned my Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Social Welfare and continued to gain experience working with children and adolescents. I have enjoyed working with children since I was an adolescent myself. During my field placement in graduate school; I was fortunate enough to connect with a great play therapist that shared the joy of communicating with children through play therapy as a tool to help validate their thoughts and feelings and help resolve their concerns and unmet needs. When working with adolescents I tend to use Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques to help increase awareness and ability to make positive life decisions. I value the importance of building a positive and trusting relationship with children and their families in order to help them overcome the obstacles that they are facing at various points in their development. Throughout my career I have worked in various social service and treatment settings throughout the Milwaukee area. On a personal level I also enjoy taking advantage of the large variety of social and recreational opportunities in Milwaukee County while spending time with my family. We enjoy exploring various parks, the lakefront, museums, the zoo and many of the festivals throughout the year. And since family is so important; we also spend a lot of time visiting relatives in northern Wisconsin.
