Becoming a midwife was a natural choice for me because I’ve always wanted to help women have a voice and a choice in their health care. Given information and support, I know that women will make the best decisions for themselves and their families. Women with complicated pregnancies of any sort deserve the addition of low-tech, high-touch support that midwives offer, perhaps even more than women with low-risk pregnancies. Working in partnership with women to address their physical, emotional and social needs is very satisfying and I especially enjoy the relationships that develop over time. I love being part of a team that delivers genuine, outstanding and seamless care to families who experience difficulties in pregnancy.
