Susan strives to provide streamlined and comprehensive, quality care to oncology patients and their families, whether it is during the patient’s diagnosis and treatment, survivorship, or end of life care. She ensures that the patient and family remain the central focus, and support open and honest communication as the foundation for a trusting relationship. She incorporates multidisciplinary involvement and support a team approach when caring for patients. Susan strives to empower patients and families through education, and support active involvement in decision-making. During her career, she has witnessed the advancement of pediatric oncology care through research. Susan encourages and supports patient enrollment on clinical trials, if appropriate for the patient. Regardless of the patient’s prognosis, she remains hopeful and try to instill hope in them.
