Art therapists provide the psychotherapeutic engagement with art materials to further the emotional, cognitive, social, mental health, and physical needs of the hospitalized patient. Sessions provide verbal and non-verbal methods of processing and validating the patient and family’s medical experience.

- Depression, anxiety, or difficulty coping
- Non-pharmacological pain management
- Changes to body
- Sibling and/or parent support (including NICU caregivers)
- End of life
