Mom's Concussion Clinic
Mom's Concussion Clinic is to focus on safe sports play techniques and injury prevention.
An estimated one in five athletes will sustain a sports concussion during the season. To help reduce the risk of sports-related injuries such as concussions and heat and dehydration in young athletes, the Kohl’s Cares Grow Safe & Healthy Program, in partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Orthopedic and Sports Medicine program, is hosting a Mom’s Concussion Clinic in Waukesha on Saturday, August 15, 2015.
Expert speakers include Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Licensed Athletic Trainer Drew Hacker, and Dr. Kevin Walter, program director, Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine. Topics covered include: concussion prevention, signs and symptoms, safe play techniques, and safety tips for heat emergencies. Special guest appearance made by: Ahman Green, Green Bay’s all-time leading rusher. A special hands-on tackling skills and drills session for the moms will round out the program.
