Research and quality at Children’s
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is a national leader in pediatric rheumatology research, with a long history at the forefront of improving outcomes for children. Our tireless goal is to maintain function, prevent damage and alleviate the discomfort and disabilities associated with rheumatic diseases and to provide information that may one day lead to cures.
We conduct both clinical and basic science research, including clinical trials, drug trials, registry studies, Quality Improvement and outcomes research. Children’s participated in the first biologic response modifier study Etanercept and was one of the centers involved in a study that led to a new class of drugs, significantly improving outcomes for children nationwide.
We strive to bring children the latest and best treatments and medications available. Our pediatric rheumatologists and nurse practitioner are all members of the American College of Rheumatology and actively participate in clinical research including:
- Clinical research
- Basic science and translational research
