How it works

Video visits work on your smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer. All providers are able to give a diagnosis, create a care plan and prescribe medications when appropriate. If the provider does not feel a video visit is appropriate, you will not be charged for the visit.

  1. Create an account on Children’s From Home
Enroll at Childrensfromhome.com or with the Children’s From Home app. Signing up takes only a few minutes. Create an account for yourself — you’ll be able to add your child when you begin a visit.

  2. Choose “Children’s Online Urgent Care”
When you’re ready to start a visit, select the “Children’s Online Urgent Care” option to see a list of pediatric experts. A parent or guardian should be present at the time of the video visit.

  3. Get treatment
Select a pediatric provider from the list. You will be prompted to add your child’s information at this time.  Be sure to choose 'this visit is for your child, not yourself,' when registering for a visit with the pediatrician. After a short questionnaire, you’ll be connected with the provider. Fees are due at the time of service.

How long do visits last?

Children’s From Home visits usually last about 10 minutes. The pediatric provider will interact directly with you and your child. If more time is needed, the visit is extended.

How do I see a summary of my visit?

If your child is currently a Children’s patient, a summary of the visit can be found in your child’s MyChart account. If you do not have a MyChart account, setup your MyChart account now.

What if my child needs medication?

If your child needs a prescription for the condition being treated, the pediatric provider can send a prescription electronically to the pharmacy you select. He/she can also provide a school/daycare note regarding your child’s condition.

If prescription refills are needed, the pediatric provider seeing your child will assess your child’s health history to determine if refills are safe at this time or whether it is necessary to see your primary care provider.
