Jennifer Yates is a certified family nurse practitioner, specializing since 2005 in the medical evaluation of children who may have been maltreated. She provides medical evaluations of potential victims of child maltreatment at the Fox Valley Child Advocacy Center and the Willow Tree Cornerstone Child Advocacy Center.
Prior to her current role at Children’s Hospital, Jennifer worked at a Child Advocacy Center in Orange County, Cal. She is actively involved in providing education and consultation to community medical providers, law enforcement officers and social workers on the medical aspects of child maltreatment. In addition, she has assisted in providing coordination and education for the residency programs from Children’s Hospital of Orange County, University of California, Irvine, Long Beach Memorial and Kaiser Permanente, so that the providers would have education and clinical experience on the evaluation of maltreated children.
Jennifer provides expert testimony on the medical aspects of child abuse for courts as needed.
