Visiting a patient at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin
Visiting hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Parents, grandparents or legal guardians may visit any time. All other visitors will be asked to leave at 8 p.m.
Parents or guardians create a visitor list when their child is admitted. Only the parent or guardian can add names to the list. All visitors, including family members, must be on the list to visit your child. For safety reasons we may remove people from the list. These people will not be allowed to visit. Some units have restrictions on visitors. Check with your child’s nurse.
Visitor identification badges
All visitors must stop at a Welcome Center each day. Staff will give visitors an identification badge. It must be worn at all times and can be turned in to a Welcome Center when you leave.
For the safety of our patients, people with coughs, colds or illness should not visit. We reserve the right to change visitor restrictions and screening.
Brothers and sisters (younger than age 18)
Visiting brothers and sisters must stay with an adult at all times. They may not stay overnight. To avoid the spread of infection, brothers and sisters may not use the patient playrooms. A sibling playroom is available on the first floor of the hospital.
For the safety of our patients, only metallic (Mylar) balloons are allowed in the hospital. Latex (rubber) balloons are not allowed. Be sure to visit our Gift Shop. It’s filled with toys and gifts our patients love.
