Where you can stay
Waiting rooms and family lounges
Each surgical area has a waiting room where families may gather. Inpatient families may use our family lounges, which are located on each unit. Families also may visit the Daniel M. Soref Family Resource Center. Family lounges and waiting rooms are equipped with at least one computer with Internet access, televisions and light reading materials.
Overnight stays in the hospital
We encourage parents to stay overnight with their child in the hospital. A single sleeper couch is available in most patient rooms for one parent or grandparent to stay. Please let your child’s nurse know if you wish to stay overnight. The hospital will provide linens and a pillow. Showers are available. You will need to bring your own toiletries and sleepwear.
For safety reasons, we do not allow parents to sleep with their child on the parent bed. Parents also may not sleep in their child's bed.
Brothers, sisters and other minor children are not allowed to stay overnight. Please make plans for the care of your other children before coming to the hospital.
Lodging and hotels
In order to make your stay at Children's Hospital as easy as possible, we created a list of hotels, motels and other options to help out-of-town families coordinate their lodging arrangements in Milwaukee. Many area hotels offer discounts to parents/family of our patients.
