Art Therapy Bridge Program to the Ronald McDonald House
The Kohl’s Child Life and Expressive Therapies Program provides a unique opportunity for patients and their families to explore issues around hospitalization through the art process. Art Therapy practicum opportunities
Under the supervision of art therapists, graduate level students from accredited institutions will obtain valuable experience with patients and families in our two semester (fall and spring) practicum. Practicum students will gain a rich experience with adjunctive collaboration, assessment, interventions, evaluation, and documentation. Practicum opportunities are Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Art Therapy Practicum deadlines:
Graduate students are not formally accepted until contracts are signed between Children's Hospital and the university.
The Art Program
Under the direction of an art specialist, the art program provides patients and families with educational art experiences, entertainment, and group art making opportunities.
Open Art Studio
The studio provides an oasis of relief for patients/families and offers opportunity for group socialization and self expression.

Art on the Plaza
This event provides opportunities for local artists, musicians, volunteers, and athletes to share their gifts and talents in the hospital.

The Patient Gallery provides an arena for patients and families to share their artwork and stories.
Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Community Outreach Gallery
The Gallery is a partnership between Children's Hospital and the community and highlights the artwork of local students.
Guidelines for the request of patient artwork
Patient-created artwork may be requested by organizations for marketing or recognition. The form is to be completed prior to processing of any request. Form completion starts communication to staff and does not guarantee request approval.
