Headaches are a common and potentially disabling problem for children and teens. Specialists in our Jane B. Pettit Pain Management and Headache Center have the expertise necessary to treat those headaches and help patients meet their potential to live a life uninterrupted by pain.
Our doctors and nurse practitioners specialize in diagnosing and managing pediatric headaches. They work in collaboration with other areas throughout the hospital to create a treatment plan that fits each child's specific needs.
Patients can be seen in both Wauwatosa and New Berlin and we schedule both new and urgent patients as soon as possible.
Before your appointment
At Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, we consider you and your child to be integral parts of the care team. Your observations about your child's headaches are invaluable to us, and we will take time to talk with you and your child about the treatment plan and discuss any questions you have.
Writing down notes about your child's headache in a headache diary or keeping track of them on your regular calendar can be very helpful to us. We encourage you to bring your diary or calendar with you to your initial appointment.
Before your appointment, we ask that you fill out our headache questionnaire and bring it with you to help us best coordinate care of your child and understand your concerns.
