Why we measure it - Research shows that doctors and clinics that treat a large number of patients tend to have better results.

What this means - The chart shows we have seen more patients in our clinics each year, with a slight drop in 2011.

About the data - This is the number of outpatient or clinic visits to our Milwaukee hospital location and our clinics in Greenfield, Wis., and New Berlin, Wis. The visits include imaging, laboratory, and physical and occupational therapy. The visits also include patients with ongoing and in-home dialysis needs.

What we're doing to provide the best care:

• We have clinics in several locations to make it easier for families to access care. We have clinics at our Milwaukee hospital location. We also have clinics in Wisconsin in Green Bay, Greenfield, Kenosha, Neenah and New Berlin. Our Illinois clinics are in Algonquin, Glenview and Vernon Hills.
• We offer the Family Accommodations Program to help make travel plans and appointments for families coming to our hospital from a long distance.
