Our expert team of cancer and blood disorders specialists is made up of nationally and internationally known physicians, experienced and well-qualified practice nurses, staff nurses, social workers, child life specialists and psychologists who make it their goal to provide compassionate, comprehensive and cutting edge care to our patients and their families. Blood and Marrow Transplant

Our program is the treatment of choice for various types of relapsed leukemia in children, t-cell depletion, cancer in children, immune deficiencies, severe severe aplastic anemia and for some cases of sickle cell disease. The nation's largest pediatric bone marrow transplant program of this type is provided in the hospital's 24-bed Hematology/Oncology/Transplant Unit. The program focuses on the use of unrelated individuals or mismatched family members as unrelated bone marrow transplant donors.

Intensive Care

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin provides a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to critically ill children with heart or lung disease, organ transplants, life-threatening birth defects, severe burns or serious head injury with state-of-the-art equipment and therapies in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units (PICU and NICU). Highly specialized staff include pediatric critical care physicians, neonatologists, nurses, pharmacists and therapists. In addition, Transport and Physician Referral is an extension of both intensive care units.
