Start Right

Start Right (PDF) provides education and support to families in Marathon County from pregnancy to age five.

First Steps. A public health nurse meets with mothers during pregnancy and after their babies are born. Mothers learn how to take care of their baby during and after pregnancy and are provided with breastfeeding information and comforting techniques.

Step by Step. A family educator is available to meet with families after the birth of a baby. Families receive information to help their baby grow and develop.

Stepping Stones. A family educator is available for families who have parenting questions or need support. Family educators are available via telephone, e-mail or in person by visiting a family resource center.

Stepping Out. Family resource centers offer parenting groups for children of all ages, fun family events, one-on-one coaching and playgroups.
