The Neurofibromatosis and RASopathy Center, a multidisciplinary clinic of the Genetics Center, provides diagnosis, education, counseling, treatment and care coordination services to children and adults with neurofibromatosis and other disorders related to the RAS pathway. The RAS pathway is a part of the body that helps control development through cell growth and function.

Our specialists diagnose and treat the following conditions:

  • Capillary malformation-arteriovenous malformation syndrome.
  • Cardio-facial-cutaneous syndrome.
  • Costello syndrome.
  • Legius syndrome.
  • Multiple lentigines syndrome (formerly known as LEOPARD syndrome).
  • Neurofibromatosis type 1.
  • Neurofibromatosis type 2.
  • Noonan syndrome.
  • Schwannomatosis.
  • Tuberous sclerosis complex.

Our team of physicians and health care providers share a vision to provide excellent care all in one visit. Each patient is evaluated and treated as needed by a team of specialists from a variety of different areas. Specialists work together to determine the most effective care plan and treatment for each patient. Meet our specialists.

Families work with an evaluation and care team that includes specialists in the following areas:

  • Speech-language pathologists.
  • Physical and occupational therapists.
  • Health care professionals from other specialties, including ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, renal and cardiology, are available as needed on a referral basis.

 

Highly specialized care

Children's Hospital's Neurofibromatosis and RASopathy Center is a designated Neurofibromatosis Affiliate Clinic, recognized by the Children's Tumor Foundation for providing comprehensive care to individuals with NF and related conditions.

Children's Hospital is one of only a few designated centers nationwide that offers clinical evaluation, comprehensive case management and specialized care to individuals with RAS pathway disorders.

Our goal is to better control symptoms, prevent complications and preserve quality of life. Clinic staff strive to help patients and families understand the condition and adapt to genetic conditions that require lifelong medical management.
