The Max McGee Center as a diabetes resource

In the last 10 years, investigators in the Max McGee National Research Center for Juvenile Diabetes at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin have collected blood samples, genetic materials and clinical histories on more than 400 families with diabetes.

Few centers in the world have gathered such a resource to track the onset of diabetes in a previously healthy child. This resource is vital for a successful research program.

As part of Children's Hospital, research discoveries in the center were factors in the hospital's rating as No. 3 hospital in the nation by Parents magazine.
