The Nucleic Acid Extraction Core provides investigators with fee-based services for extraction of nucleic acid from various tissue types utilizing both manual and automated extraction systems. It is open to all investigators at Children's Research Institutethe Medical College of Wisconsin and associated institutions.

Access is controlled, monitored and protected by sign-up sheets, card reader entry and individualized computer account sign-on. Sample drop off and pick up is coordinated with the Pediatric Translational Research Unit.

The core was created as a collaboration between and is supported by Children's Research Institute and the departments of Pediatrics (Genetics) and Pathology (Pediatric Pathology) at The Medical College.

Core hours
7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to noon Fridays
Samples can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Pediatric Translational Research Unit. If you need to drop off samples before or after those times, make arrangements with the Pediatric TRU.
