"We are committed to the training and development of our employees," said Cindy Dries, educational technology manager. "From day one, our employees are engaged in training that will help them advance as professionals and as individuals." "Our employee training programs help keep us competitive," said Chris Jensen, director, Educational Services. "As the shortage of health care workers grows, we're able to provide high-quality service for children and their families." Children's Hospital and Health System offers much of its training through Children's University, a SumTotal learning management system. The system manages the health system's various opportunities for employees through e-learning, instructor-led or manager-led courses, self-study and field-based workshops. This is the eighth year Training magazine has ranked top companies worldwide for their workforce training and development. An outside research and statistical data company reviews quantitative and qualitative data supplied by applicants including how training is tied to business objectives, employee turnover and retention, leadership development, tuition assistance and dollars spent on training. Training magazine editors then subjectively review the entries.
