Children's Hospital does its best to provide each family with resources to meet the challenges of living with liver disease or transplant. A specialist from the liver disease and transplant team is available during business hours to answer questions that arise between clinic visits. A doctor also is available at night and over the weekend by calling the hospital operator at (414) 266-2000.

At clinic visits, educational materials such as the Liver Transplant Care Notebook and agenda of care are provided and reviewed with families. A team of doctors is available to respond to your needs on nights, weekends and holidays.

Transitioning to adult care at Froedtert Hospital

Jose Franco, MD, assistant professor, the Medical College of Wisconsin sees adolescent patients in preparation for transitioning to the adult liver transplant center at Froedert Hospital. This gives patients and families an opportunity to build a relationship with the adult liver transplant doctor before making the full transition to Froedtert Hospital.
