Why we measure it - Research shows that breast milk may provide many health and emotional benefits for both mother and baby. However, in many cases, premature birth can pose barriers to breastfeeding. We measure breastfeeding rates to ensure that we are succeeding in overcoming these challenges and providing the best nutrition to the babies in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
