Quality Reports - Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in the Fox Valley

Referrals

Referrals to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in the Fox Valley predominantly come from the "New North" region of the state, which includes the following counties: Outagamie, Winnebago, Calumet, Waupaca, Brown, Shawano, Oconto, Marinette, Door, Kewaunee, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Florence, Menominee and Waushara.

Why we measure it - Research shows that physicians and hospitals that treat a large number of patients tend to provide better care and have improved outcomes for treatments and procedures.

What this means - A majority of our referrals come from northeast Wisconsin. It is typical of neonatal intensive care units to have a fairly local referral base.
