Flashes of Hope launched to help cancer patients

Patients in the MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders outpatient clinic are taking part in Flashes of Hope, a program that takes portraits of children with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

Patients will have their portraits taken in all stages of their treatment and recovery. The photo shoots are designed to be fun and bring happiness to patients and their families. Flashes of Hope is made up of an all-volunteer team including a photographer, professional makeup artist, wardrobe person and two assistants.

"The patients and their families were surprised by how professional the shoots were, and they all had a fun time participating," said Bill Owens, chapter director, Flashes of Hope.
