The Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare

The Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare works
with families to ensure the safety and well-being of
children. With its many community partners, BMCW provides services to families in crisis that help keep children safely in the home. When it is necessary, BMCW looks to foster and adoptive families to provide temporary and permanent homes for children who cannot live with their parents. 

Kid Connection

Kid Connection is published quarterly by Children's Service Society in partnership with the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare and the UWM-Milwaukee Child Welfare Partnership for Professional Development. It includes training classes and other helpful information for foster parents.

The UWM-Milwaukee Child Welfare Partnership for Professional Development

The UWM-Milwaukee Child Welfare Partnership for Professional Development is a program housed within the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, Division of Children and Families and the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare. The program provides competency-based training and development programs to public child welfare staff employed by the BMCW and its private partner agencies and foster/adoptive families licensed by the BMCW.

The University of Wisconsin−Milwaukee Helen Bader School of Social Welfare is a key player in helping to provide safe and caring homes by providing training for licensed foster parents in Milwaukee County as well as Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare (BMCW) staff.
