Volunteer Respite Program

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services' Volunteer Respite program strengthens families with children who have special needs by giving the parents or caregivers a much-needed break on a regular basis. Volunteers help care for children during large respite events, or individually in a child's home.

Respite events include a full day of fun activities. One or two volunteers are matched with a child to provide one-on-one quality care. Nursing staff are on-hand for all toileting and medical needs. A behavioral specialist also is available.

Interested in volunteering? Volunteer groups are always welcome. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. Fill out the Volunteer Respite Program Registration Form.
