Children's Hospital opens Diagnostic Clinic
Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has started a Diagnostic Clinic to provide consultation for a wide variety of nonurgent pediatric cases.
The Diagnostic Clinic helps diagnose complicated cases in which a primary care physician is uncertain or desires a second opinion about a diagnosis or treatment. Once a diagnosis is made, full responsibility for care is returned to the referring physician.
Consultations are provided by Albert Pomeranz, MD. Dr. Pomeranz is a pediatrician at the Downtown Health Center and a professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is a respected master clinician who is listed among the Best Primary Care Doctors by Milwaukee Magazine. He is the editor and a co-author of Pediatric Decision Making Strategies. He also is co-author of Nelson Instructions for Pediatric Patients, a book that provides guidance to parents on 250 medical conditions.
Dr. Pomeranz earned his medical degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. He completed a residency and internship in Pediatrics at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
To refer a patient to the Diagnostic Clinic, call Central Scheduling at (414) 607-5280 or toll-free at (877) 607-5280.
