On June 24, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded Children's Hospital of Wisconsin a medal of honor recognizing the hospital's success in increasing organ donation rates.

Children's Hospital is one of 392 hospitals to win this award. A total of 716 hospitals were eligible. To win the award, hospitals with eight or more potential organ donors had to sustain a donation rate of 75 percent or more for at least a year.
