Today, the newly established MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders outpatient clinic at Children's Hospital will provide bench to bedside resources to transform cancer and blood disorder research for the next generation of children.
Since 1976, MACC Fund has been investing in and advancing research into pediatric cancer and related blood disorders. Through the efforts of researchers at Children's Hospital, the Medical College of Wisconsin and other investigators around the country, survival rates for children with cancer have increased from 20 percent to 80 percent. Many of the original treatment protocols were discovered in Milwaukee. MACC Fund's commitment has played an important role in this success.
MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital is among the most experience and largest programs. Together, Children's Hospital and MACC Fund will continue to improve the lives - and the hopes - of children around the world. |
