Patricia D. Wilson, PhD was appointed associate director of Children's Research Institute in 2007. She also directs the Children's Kidney Disease Research Program. Dr. Wilson received her doctorate in Cell Biology from the University of London and received her training at Imperial Cancer Research Fund and Physiologisches Institut in Munich. She has held faculty appointments at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, The John Hopkins School of Medicine and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, where she was awarded the Fishberg Chair of Medicine (Nephrology). She has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications in the field of epithelial cell and developmental biology and is an active advisor for National Institutes of Health peer-reviewed committees and study sections, as well as for foundations and advisory bodies on genetic diseases. Her research focus on cell and developmental biology of the kidney has led to novel insights into therapeutic approaches for polycystic kidney disease during development and progression, and has been continually funded by NIH for more than 20 years. |
