Patient Billing

About your bill
At Children's Hospital and Health System, we know your experience with us is not limited to just a clinic visit, counseling session, hospital stay or procedure. The Billing Department is committed to a patient friendly billing process that helps you with your medical bills.

Children's Hospital and Health System provides medically necessary health care to people in its geographic service area without regard for their ability to pay. In order to keep this promise, we bill and collect payments from insurance companies and individuals paying on their own (self-pay).

If you or your child was seen in one of our outpatient clinics, you might receive more than one bill. Children's Hospital bills for clinic staff, supplies, medical records, etc. The Medical College of Wisconsin sends out a bill for the physicians' services.

We will submit your claim and allow your insurance company 30 days to pay us. Your claim may become your responsibility if it has not been paid within 30 days. You will receive monthly statement updates.
