Heart transplant outcomes

Graft survival for patients transplanted between July 1, 2004 and Dec. 31, 2006 for one- month cohort; for one year and July 1, 2002 and Dec. 31, 2004 for three-year group.

100% graft survival at one month
95% graft survival at one year
50% graft survival at three years

Almost two-thirds (61.5 percent) of new wait-list registrations are children less than 2 years of age and more than three-quarters (76.9 percent) are in the highest medical urgency status (Status 1A). Another 15.4 percent are in the second level of medical urgency (Status 1-B). Children's Hospital's heart transplant program clearly is seen as one of the premier programs in the country by parents and referring physicians.
