Heart transplant outcomes
97% graft survival at one month 79% graft survival at one year 61% graft survival at three years
Graft survival for patients transplanted between Jan. 1, 2003 and Feb. 1, 2007 for one month cohort; Jan. 1, 2003 and March 1, 2006 for one year and Jan. 1, 1999 and March 1, 2004 for three year group.
Recent survival (2005 and 2006) is 95 percent overall patient survival based on 21 transplants.
More than two-thirds (66.7 percent) of new wait-list registrations are children less than 2 years of age and more than half (58 percent) are in the highest medical urgency status (Status 1A). Another quarter are in the second level of medical urgency (Status 1-B). Children's Hospital's heart transplant program clearly is seen as one of the premier programs in the country by parents and referring physicians. |
