Things from home

• Current health insurance information.
• A listing of medications that your child is currently taking.
• The name and phone number of your child's primary care doctor.
• Your child's vaccination record.

Familiar things can help a child who is in the hospital. Families may bring special toys, movies, photographs, posters, games, books or other items. Families are responsible for the items they bring from home.

Do I need to bring money with me to the hospital?
Parents may buy food and other items at Children's Hospital. A no-fee automated teller machine (ATM) is located near the entrance to the hospital.

What should be left at home?
The following things should be left at home:

• Toys with sharp edges.
• Small toys with parts that can be swallowed.
• Toys that make sparks.
• Latex balloons.
• Baby walkers.

Can I use my cell phone in the hospital?
Cell phones can interfere with medical equipment and must be turned off when in restricted areas. Cell phones are allowed in the hospital lobby. In all other areas, please follow the signs or, if in doubt, ask a care provider where cell phones can be used safely.

Parking

Where do I park?
Free valet parking is available to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin patient families from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the entrances to the hospital and Clinics Building.

Families who choose not to use the free valet service may park free of charge north of the hospital in the visitor parking structure. The skywalk on Level 2 connects the parking structure to the Clinics Building and the hospital.
