Valerie Lyon, MD, a pediatric dermatologist in the Dermatology Surgery Clinic at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, offers surgical and laser skin procedures for infants, children and adolescents. Dr. Lyon emphasizes patient comfort and reducing anxiety during procedures. Following an initial consultation, procedures are scheduled with local/regional anesthesia or full anesthesia administered bya pediatric anesthesiologist. 

Surgeries are performed on the following types of lesions:

• Small, medium and large congenital nevi (not giant)
• Nevus sebaceous of the scalp, face or neck.
• Dermoid cysts of the head, neck or upper torso.
• Miscellaneous birthmarks.
• Atypical nevi.
• Other skin tumors and growths.

The Dermatology Surgery Clinic does not treat medium to large lesions on the nasal tip, genitalia, fingers and toes or large facial lesions.
