Out-of-home care
Adoption Children's Service Society believes that a family is always a family, no matter how they became one. At Children's Service Society, adoption means finding permanent homes for children. The agency offers a variety of adoption programs. No matter how a child comes to the adoption process, our goal is to place each child we serve in a loving, nurturing and stable home.
Treatment Foster Care Treatment Foster Care is home-based care for children and adolescents with significant emotional, behavioral or medical challenges. When children must leave their homes, either temporarily or permanently, they need to be part of a secure and loving family. Foster families offer a child a stable, nurturing home environment and a sense of self-worth and family that will last a lifetime.
Child Welfare Children's Family and Community Partnerships is a not-for-profit subsidiary of Children's Service Society. Under contract with the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Service, Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare, Children's Family and Community Partnerships provides ongoing case management and safety services to children and families in two (of three) child welfare regions in Milwaukee.
Independent Living Skills Transitioning from adolescence to adulthood is seldom an easy task. It requires skills, maturity, planning and support. Many youth are not yet ready to make this change at 18, and the transition is even more daunting for youth in out-of-home care who may not have had guidance, support or modeling present throughout their lives.
Alliance for LGBTQ Youth in Foster Care Recognizing the challenges Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) youth in foster care face, Children's Service Society, along with other dedicated community partners, formed the Alliance for LGBTQ Youth in Foster Care. The Alliance focuses on examining the current status of LGBTQ youth within the community and particularly within the foster care community. |
