What is planned giving?
A planned, or deferred, gift is a type of charitable gift that will be distributed sometime in the future to a charity that is meaningful to you. It is a charitable giving decision made during your lifetime taking into consideration your current income needs and financial objectives, as well as your philanthropic goals.
Planned giving is often done in conjunction with estate planning and is a viable option for donors of all income levels. Examples of popular planned giving tools include bequests by wills or revocable trusts, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, and beneficiary designations of a life insurance policy, retirement plan or financial account.
The navigation links on the left, "Choose a way to give" and "Assets you can give" will provide you with information about the various types of planned gifts available.
The planned giving staff at Children's Hospital and Health System Foundation is available to answer any questions you, or your advisor, may have about choosing the right planned giving vehicle for you.
