School Performace Program

The School Performance Program is a multidisciplinary clinic housed within the Child Development Center at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The clinic is designed to meet the diagnostic and treatment needs of children with a variety of conditions that affect interpersonal, academic, social, emotional, behavioral and family well-being.

We diagnose and treat the following:

Services include:

  • Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and treatment recommendations.
  • Developmental, behavioral and related medical and psychiatric needs assessments.
  • Direct interventions, including:

    Treatment options include:
    Treatment components are multifaceted and designed to meet the needs of each child and family. Parent training and education is offered for families of children with ADHD and/or ODD.

    Treatment format includes groups of 4-8 parents meeting to develop skills to effectively work with their children. Groups run for six consecutive weeks and parents are expected to attend all sessions. All groups are skill focused and customized to meet the needs of the families involved.

    Therapy for individual families and their child also is available, as is individual therapy for the child. Because children with learning and attention-related difficulties often experience a number of social concerns, a socialization group for children with ADHD available. This group is skill based and designed to maximize the transfer of skills learned in the sessions to the school and family settings. The group runs for eight consecutive weeks.

    Contact with school personnel, as needed, also is available. Where appropriate, medication management of developmental and psychiatric conditions is available.
