WHAT'S NEW!

Spring 2010   This is MY Children's Career-Critical Care Nursing:  Spring semester dates TBA This informational day explains the different roles and responsibilities a Children's nurse has in the ER, OR, NICU, PICU, PARU and Transport.  Virtual tours will be given during the presentation, along with a nursing forum for nursing students to ask candid questions to Children's nurses who work in these departments.  A visit from Children's Human Resources department ends the program with important interview techniques/suggestions and how to apply at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Student Information Sheet A new form for student's requesting a senior capstone experience (preceptorship) at CHW has been created. The form was developed after receiving feedback from preceptors stating that they would like more information up front on any student doing a one on one experience. Program Overview

The Advanced Practice Nursing and Research Department has oversees and coordinates work with all schools of nursing. More than 650 nursing students from 18 schools of nursing completed educational experiences at Children's Hospital in 2008. There are various types of student placements including undergraduate and graduate experiences.
