Our pediatric neurologists provide high-quality, comprehensive, coordinated, multidisciplinary, family-centered care for children with diverse neurological disorders, including epilepsy, brachial plexus injury, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and headaches. Cutting-edge diagnostic techniques, surgical procedures and medical treatment plans are utilized to provide optimal care from birth through adolescence. We are a nationally recognized center for referrals for the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric epilepsy.

Specialty Highlights

• Mary L. Zupanc, MD, a nationally recognized pediatric epileptologist, is medical director of Neurology at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
• The Pediatric Epilepsy Center at Children's Hospital is one of a few in the nation providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for children with unusual or difficult to control seizures, performing more than 2,000 EEGs each year, admitting 40 patients per month to the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, and performing two to three epilepsy surgeries each month.

• Our specialists lead many clinics at Children's Hospital including:

  • Movement Disorders Clinic is directed by Anne Joseph, MD, offering evaluation and treatment of movement disorders including tics, dystonia, and ataxia.

  • Multidisciplinary Neuromuscular Clinic is led by Richard Jacobson, MD.

  • "First Seizure/Febrile Seizure Clinic" is staffed by nurse practitioners and pediatric epileptologists.

  • Multidisciplinary Neuro-oncology Clinic, directed by Catherine Amlie-Lefond, MD.
