Overview Child Development is dedicated to the care of children with developmental disabilities from infancy through adolescence. Services are offered directly or in collaboration with other providers and resources to meet the mission of providing high quality, family-centered patient care, education, prevention, research and advocacy.
Specialty Highlights
- In conjunction with Infectious Diseases and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, we implemented an International Adoption Program to care for children adopted outside the United States. This is the only program of its kind in Wisconsin.
- We provide excellent care through many well-established programs at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, including:
- Autism, Behavior (atypical) and Communication Disorders Clinic.
- School Performance Program for children with learning and attention disorders.
- Neonatal Developmental Follow-up Program.
- Psychopharmacology Program.

- Inpatient Psychology Consultation and Liaison Program.

Child Development Team Child Development is comprised of board-certified pediatricians with additional training in child development, child psychologists and advanced nurse practitioners. We offer diagnosis and treatment for developmental delays, mental retardation, language and communication disorders, autism and pervasive developmental disorders, learning disabilities and dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and chronic illness.
