Nursing Excellence
Our nurses always have been attractive. Now the whole world knows.
There is a reason patients and families are drawn to us. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin nurses have an attraction to caring. It's more than just being the best. It is about constantly striving to improve the quality of nursing care we provide.
Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has twice achieved the prestigious Magnet Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Magnet designation is given to health care organizations that are able to demonstrate excellence in nursing. This honor is bestowed on a small percentage of the hospitals in the nation.
In 1994, the ANCC developed the Magnet Recognition program to recognize the organizations that have a "magnetic" quality - able to attract and retain the best nurses. These organizations constantly are striving to raise the bar. Although Magnet Recognition signifies excellence in nursing, it also reflects the caliber of the entire organization.
