About Us
History
In 1987, then Milwaukee Brewers President Bud Selig, Milwaukee County Supervisor Thomas Bailey, and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin's President and CEO, John E. Vice, created the Child Abuse Prevention Fund to combat the growing number of child abuse cases.
From the start, we recognized that the only true way to wipe out child abuse is through primary prevention - keeping child abuse from happening in the first place.
Today
The Child Abuse Prevention Fund is a fundraising initiative of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Since 1988, the organization distributed more than 10.1 million to support community-based child abuse prevention initiatives throughout Wisconsin.
